Kent District Library issued the following announcement on Nov. 27.
“KDL’s Homebrew Competition is a fun departure from the normal style-based homebrewing competition, and allows for homebrewers to flex their creativity in ways that they maybe wouldn’t otherwise. I personally enjoy the idea of building a recipe around a story. It's very unconventional to how I normally do it, but it's a fun change of pace!
I've always enjoyed The Grapes of Wrath, and in the back of my mind I had wanted to make a beer that incorporated wine (i.e. grapes) into it. This offered the perfect opportunity, and luckily, I was able to find some additional ingredients that fit right in with the book's theme!”
