KNAPP CHARTER ACADEMY: We have a couple changes to our school calendar coming up quickly

Istock 000010436389 medium

Knapp Charter Academy issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

We have a couple changes to our school calendar coming up quickly – here are the details so you can plan for these changes:

• January 17 – only grades Y5-5th will attend school on this date all day. No middle school students attend on this day.

• February 14 – only grades 6th-8th will attend school on this date all day. We will be having a special professional assembly and student workshop day by “The Diatribe.” Don’t miss it! No Y5-5th students attend on this day.

January 17 is a full day of school, however it will only be for students in grades Y5-5th. Middle School Students (Grades 6-8) will not attend school on this day so the middle school staff can attend a staff training session together offsite.

In order to still meet the required number of school days for the State of Michigan, we will have the middle school students attend school on Friday, February 14. This originally was scheduled as a day off for the entire student body and professional development for the entire staff but our middle school staff will be here to teach and make up for the missed day on January 17. Middle School Students (Grades 6-8) will attend school for the entire day on February 14.

It is important that we make the required attendance amount on both dates so please send siblings, if applicable, on January 17 and then just your middle schooler on February 14. If we fail to make the required amount for attendance, we may have to make up another day to reach the required number of school days for the State of Michigan.

Please make a note of these changes and contact the school office with any questions you may have.
