Kent County announced grant recipients for the first round of the Kent County Small Business Recovery Program in August.
During the first round of funding, the program has awarded grants to 1,318 businesses in the county, according to the Grand Rapids Chamber. Businesses in the first round received grants in the amounts of $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 and $20,000.
The meeting to announce the grant recipients was held virtually through Zoom to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Those in attendance during the meeting were Mandy Bolter, Kent County Board of Commissioners chair, Kent County Administrator Wayman Britt, Grand Rapids Chamber Vice President of Talent & Business Development Dante Villarreal and local business owners.
