Consumers Energy North Kent issued the following announcement on Nov. 2.
The winds this weekend were a fright, yet our crews were howling good at restoring outages quickly. As of 7:30 am today, 9,000 customers are without power, mostly in Leelanau County and all impacted by the winds are expected to be fully back online this evening.
Even thought our crews have made great progress, we are still urging everyone to exercise caution today. If you see a downed wire, stay at least 25 feet away from it and anything it might be touching.
