CITY OF CEDAR SPRINGS: Consumers Energy will be doing some tree trimming in Cedar Springs to improve the reliability of electric service

Chainsaw

City of Cedar Springs issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.

Consumers Energy will be doing some tree trimming in Cedar Springs to improve the reliability of electric service.  Affected customers will receive a postcard stating that a planner will be coming around in early December to look at tree conditions.  Then a letter will be sent to those customers before the work begins, with contact information in case they have any questions.  The work should start late this year or in early 2021.

The work area starts near the substation on W. Church St., heading east to S. Second. It will go north on S. Second to W. Maple, then east to Main Street. It will go north on Main Street to 18 Mile. We will also be working on West Cherry St. between S. Second and 5th St. There are about 108 homes and businesses.  Trimming trees in this “first zone” closest to the substation will improve reliability for the entire circuit.
