City of Rockford recently issued the following announcement.
We removed a large hornet nest from Heritage Park this morning.
We are urging residents not to use the playground today and use caution if you are in the area of the playground.
The hornets that are left are very aggressive right now.
We will remove the barricades when it is safe to use the equipment again.
