Sparta Area Schools recently issued the following announcement.
Dear Spartan Parents, Staff & Families:
As you may be aware, at 2:00 p.m. today, the Kent County Health Department released a public health order that requires the masking of students and staff in grades PK-6th grade when our school year begins next week. The Board of Education and myself just received this information this afternoon and are in the process of reviewing its content. Once we have more information to share, we will communicate it throughout our district.
Obviously the timing of this order makes it difficult with the start of the school year only a few days away. We ask for your patience over the weekend as we digest the order and update any previous plans. You should expect communication from the district early in the day on Monday.
