Vergennes Township issued the following announcement on Aug 25.
We are pleased to announce starting today we have partnered with Riding for Ryan.
Riding for Ryan is a West Michigan non-profit organization founded in November 2019, whose mission and purpose is to promote the safety of young bike riders through visibility and awareness.
“Our goal is to provide free bicycle safety flags to kids to help keep them safe as they enjoy one of the most cherished and memorable activities. Many people, like yourself, realize the importance of proactive safety measures. We are grateful you have taken an interest in our cause and we hope you can help spread the word. With your help, Riding for Ryan can provide flags for those who we need to protect most!”
This non-profit was start by a Cascade Firefighter and his family after the loss of their son in a biking accident.
Flags are available for pick up or installation at the Lowell Area Fire Department Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:00 pm or by appointment outside of office hours by emailing Chief Witherell at firechief@lowellfire.org
