Cedar Springs Public Schools recently issued the following announcement.
Our Red Hawks of the week are Jacob and Lorraine from our Equestrian team! Early October, our Equestrian team qualified to compete at the state competition.
Lorraine is a junior who bought her 3yr old horse, Bud, one year ago. "I am very proud of her attitude and look forward to coaching her next year!" says Katie Vandye, the equestrian coach.
Jacob is a freshman who has been with his horse for seven years. Together are a fierce team bringing home individual championships in 5 events.
Together, Jacob and Lorraine competed and ended up fourth in the state! There was only a 20 point difference between the top four teams. Being on any team takes leadership, commitment, balance, and dedication - all traits of outstanding Red Hawks. Thank you, Jacob and Lorraine, for showcasing what teamwork is all about!
