Village of Sparta recently issued the following announcement.
Leaf pickup for Fall 2021 is scheduled to start mid-October and will run through the end of November or the first heavy snowfall, whichever is earlier. Residents are asked to rake leaves into piles between the curb and sidewalk or the area next to the street if there is no curb and sidewalk. Please do not rake leaves into the street. If you put your leaves in the street you will be asked to remove them. If you mix pet waste or trash in your leaves they will NOT be picked up. This is a leaf pickup only. Please do not set out brush, roots, stumps, or garden waste, as the leaf vacuum cannot accept those items. Please do not park within 25 ft. of leaf piles.
If you prefer an alternative to the Village picking up your leaves you may bring them to the Village DPW Garage at 276 W. Division and drop them off in the back. If you choose to bring them to the garage please remove them from plastic bags.
