Kenowa Hills Public Schools issued the following announcement on Nov 4.

Kenowa Hills Public Schools is pleased to announce Brandon Kimble as the new Kenowa Hills High School girls varsity basketball coach. Kimble brings a passion for the game and a dedication to teamwork and work ethic to the Knights team.

Kimble began coaching basketball for Kenowa Hills in 2017 at the middle school level with both boys and girls. During that time his teams enjoyed successful seasons, but more importantly Kimble began to establish the developmental steppingstones that would build and grow the high school program. Since 2019, he has also served as assistant coach for the varsity girls basketball team.

Kimble has played basketball for as long as he can remember and he enjoys passing down the lessons he’s learned on and off the court. “Instilling confidence and work ethic in my players to create leaders and a winning atmosphere is how I approach coaching,” said Kimble. “What I want from my team is for us to be unselfish, play together, and to play hard. If we can do those three things, I believe we will be successful.”

“Kimble has a love of the sport and experience coaching the Knights,” said Athletic Director Kim Moffett, “and we look forward to continued growth and success of the girls’ basketball program under Brandon’s lead.”

Professionally, Brandon works as a Social Worker for the State of Michigan. He and his wife Heather are both graduates of Kenowa Hills. They currently live in the district and have five children, all Kenowa Hills Knights.

“I have always held a desire to give back to my school. I am excited for the opportunity to grow the Kenowa girls’ basketball program into a winning program in the OK Gold Conference, from youth to the varsity level,” added Kimble.
