Hailee Cederquist and Noah Mihalik as our Weekly Volunteers of the Month!

Vol2

Blandford Nature Center recently issued the following announcement.

In November, Blandford would like to recognize Hailee Cederquist and Noah Mihalik as our Weekly Volunteers of the Month!

Hailee became a weekly wildlife volunteer in July of this year. She is currently studying Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at GVSU. While continuing her degree, Hailee was looking for a way to learn practical field based skills while also getting involved in the community. She learned about the opportunity to volunteer at Blandford and quickly became a perfect fit for our team! She is such a positive and helpful addition to our team of wildlife volunteers and we are so grateful to have her helping us keep the Blandford wildlife ambassadors clean and fed on a weekly basis!

Noah began volunteering with our Land Stewardship team in August of this year. He had previously volunteered at both Frederik Meijer Gardens and Kent Conservation District through Kent Career Technical Center while attending their Horticulture class. While volunteering at Calvin Ecosystem Preserve and Native Gardens, he performed stewardship duties and helped cultivate native plants. Noah also got experience with the Land Conservancy of West Michigan performing stewardship duties at Wege Foundation Natural Area. Can you tell he loves native plants? We are so fortunate to have a knowledgeable and kind volunteer like Noah helping us care for our many native garden spaces at Blandford!

Thank you both for giving a hoot about Blandford Nature Center!
