City of Rockford issued the following announcement on Nov 11.
At the November 8, 2021 City Council Meeting a revised Special Events Permit was approved for “Discover a Rockford Christmas” which has a few changes we would like to notify you of:
- Holiday Lighting Ceremony on December 3rd will take place in Garden Club Park with a large tree.
- Due to the Rotary Pavilion’s construction, we are unable to use it for our activities this year. We have moved most Christmas activities to a Christmas Tent which will be located on Main Street between Bridge Street and Courtland from November 28th through December 21st. During this time, Main Street will be closed to vehicle traffic. There will not be fire pits on Main Street – only the Christmas Tent and Holiday decorations.
