Village of Sparta recently issued the following announcement.
Update on Leaf Pick-Up: As we are nearing the end of the season, leaves must be raked to the curb no later than Wednesday, November 24th to ensure pickup. Leaves raked to the curb after this date will not be picked up by the leaf vacuum. If you are a village resident, you can drop off leaves behind the Department of Public Works garage located at 276 W Division St. for free. Please be sure to remove any leaves from the bags if you utilize the drop-off option.
A few reminders on leaf pick-up: please do not rake leaf piles into the street. Doing so can lead to clogged storm drains which can result in localized flooding. Our Department of Public Works has also asked residents not to park on the street within 25 ft. of leaf piles. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
