City of Walker Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb 1.
We appreciate the fact you like our posts & are so willing to help out with tips when needed.
However, we DO NOT have a 24/7 "Facebook watcher." Depending on what is posted, we sometimes get over 100 comments, making it very difficult to sift through them all in a timely fashion.
Please do not report crimes or submit tips in the comments section of our FB posts. You know the number for that (hopefully). IT'S 911!
When we request tips from the public regarding a specific incident, we will share a Detective Tip Line phone number.
You can always use Silent Observer as well.
