Headway Against Catalytic Convertor Thefts

Catalytic

Kent County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on March 31.

KCSO detectives along with Newaygo County Sheriff's Office and the Metro Pattern Crimes Team continue to make headway against catalytic convertor thefts.  On Monday, a 39-year-old Howard City man and a 34-year-old Greenville man were arrested for two 5-year felonies: Larceny from a Motor Vehicle & violation of the Scrap Metal Regulatory Act.

Both are alleged to have cut a catalytic convertor from a victim's vehicle along 18 Mile Rd NW in Nelson Township days earlier.  The victim is estimated to be out $1,000.  The agencies involved are working together to see if this arrest can help solve other cases as well.

Please continue to keep an eye out for suspicious activity in and around cars.  Your doorbell & trail cameras go a long way in assisting investigators.  Also, thank you to those of you that submit tips on suspects that may be involved.  We can't do it without your help!
