Marks Flag Day, commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777. The United States Army also celebrates the U.S. Army birthday on this day, after reaching a consensus position in the Committee of the Whole on June 14, 1775.
Last week during our Board of Commissioners meeting, we had the opportunity to include a special order of business from the United Veteran's Council to honor individuals who have made significant contributions toward the betterment of veterans, veteran organizations and the community as a whole.
Award recipients include:
Dean DeCanter – Veteran of the Year
Harriet Sturim – Associate Member of the Year
Margaret Howard – Raising Up Veterans of the Year
