Location, Location, Location! Making it easier for first responders to find you.
This summer the KCSO, Plainfield Township Fire Department, and Merrell Trail (WMMBA) teamed up to place marker posts along the Merrell Trail in Plainfield Township. Cell phone service and its related GPS is poor in this area. KCSO Dispatch staff plotted the exact coordinates of the posts into our 911 call center mapping to better navigate first responders to your 911 calls. Trail systems in Kent County often see medical emergencies associated with bike riding, cross-country skiing, or cardiac arrest. Knowing where you are is vital and hopefully, a yellow post along your route at the Merrell Trail can help us out!
