Get to know KSSN's new staff!
Meet Laura Arreguin, our Community School Coordinator at Burton Elementary in the Grand Rapids Public Schools district. Laura has extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, both in Grand Rapids and the Holland area. She has worked with youth and families, assisting them with community resource access, striving to assist families with breaking down barriers that may prevent them from being able to fully participate in their children's education.
Laura's favorite part about being a Community School Coordinator at Burton is just being present at the school everyday! She is able to make connections with the scholars and their families, and loves being able to provide them with assistance and resources right at the school and out in the greater community.
An interesting fact about Laura is that she has visited 13 states with her husband and daughter in the past year! In fact, their goal is to visit all 50 states before their daughter starts school!
Laura has definitely made a name for herself at Burton, and she has already been commended by community partners for her organization and facilitation skills, as well as her warm and welcoming presence. She is an asset to KSSN, and we are so lucky to have her on board!
