The KCSO is sad to announce the death of one of our cherished Sheriff's Office horses, Hank. Earlier this week, Hank began to show symptoms of Potomac Horse Fever, a bacterial disease. Although he fought hard, it was too much for his body's immune system.
KCSO Major Case detectives arrested Garry Dean Artman, a 64-year-old Florida man, for the 1996 murder of Sharon Hammack. Artman was taken into custody in Mississippi and is awaiting extradition to Michigan.
