Kent District Library issued the following announcement on Oct. 7.
If you ask me what audiobook I recommend the most frequently for a couple traveling together, my go to is Bill Bryson. Partly, okay it’s a big part, because Bill Bryson usually narrates his own audiobooks and partly because I love everything he writes! I do have my favorites (A Walk in the Woods & In a Sunburned Country) but it is an exciting day when a new book comes out.
Fortunately for us, The Body is expected to be released October 15th! Some people may feel that Bill Bryson is going a little out of his usual travelogue field BUT he did in fact publish A Short History of Nearly Everything in 2003. He also published One Summer: America, 1927, his “baseball book” which dives into US history and At Home: A Short History of Private Life, which is essentially the history of his home specifically and domestic living general. So, it doesn’t seem like much of a reach to explore the functions of the human body. I’m looking forward to hearing Bill tell me all about the human body with all his usually quirky humor & extraordinary facts.
